Saint Joseph Parish is currently offering 40 Hours of Devotion to and Adoration of Christ's Presence in the Blessed Sacrament. Beginning on this Solemnity of St. Joseph (March 19) and continuing until Friday, March 21, at 4:00pm, the church will be open for exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Our St. Joe St. Vincent de Paul chapter and Goodwill industries are partnering together for our Stuff-a-Truck initiative this weekend! We will have a truck available for your donations before and after all weekend Masses on March 1 & 2 in the north lot across from the church. Take some time to do some early spring cleaning. (No building ssupplies, car parts, or old electronics. Flat screen TVs are okay but not box TVs.) How does SVdP benefit from your donations? Goodwill in turn provides vouchers to SVdP for clients to purchase clothes and basic necessities.

This year, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is observed on Monday, December 9, and is a holy day of obligation. To fulfill the standard Sunday obligation, Catholics must attend Mass any time after 4pm on Saturday, December 7, or any time on Sunday, December 8.
To fulfill the separate Immaculate Conception obligation, Catholics must attend a second Mass any time after 4pm on Sunday, December 8, or any time on Monday, December 9.
In short, two separate Masses must be attended: one for each obligation.

People in Haiti continue to suffer at the hands of powerful gangs who ruthlessly attack individuals, neighborhoods, and local and international police. Although our sister parish is located in a rural mountain region, the resulting disruption in accessibility of goods in the country has led to high inflation, lost jobs, and an increase in poverty and hunger.
St. Joe Parish offers support to our sister parish, Mary Immaculate in Platon, through prayer and financial assistance. As we approach the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, we invite you to participate in both.

Saint Joseph Grade School is seeking a 6th and 7th grade religion teacher to begin as soon as possible. This is a part-time position teaching class periods that fall mainly between the hours of 9:30am and 2:00pm. The month of November is set aside to remember those who have died. Everyone mourns differently and, here at Saint Joseph, we will offer prayer opportunities to assist us: On Saturday, November 2, join us for an All Souls Day Candle Walk at 7:00pm. We will gather on the blacktop for a brief prayer and then walk the grounds of the parish. The sidewalks will be lined with luminary candles, and the church will remain open for quiet prayer.
The annual Parish Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 4, at 7:00pm, when we pray in a particular way for those who have died in the past year. All are welcome.

This Wednesday, September 18, 6-8pm, Saint Joseph parishioners are invited to Cultivate Food Rescue to learn more about their mission to feed the hungry in our community. Meet the Cultivate staff, tour the buildings, and help pack food! Cultivate has a vision of "No Neighbor Hungry, No Food Wasted." They work to reduce hunger and food waste in northern Indiana by recovering excess, quality food and redistributing it to school children, food pantries, shelters and more. Volunteer opportunities are available six days a week, morning, afternoon, and evening.

A focal point in every Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium is the prayer table (it can also be a place that lives at the heart of the family home!). Our afternoon CGS students processed through the hallways of our parish offices this afternoon as they practiced preparing the prayer table in our atrium.
